REpower North (China) Co. Ltd. was established in September 2006 as a joint venture with the Chinese steel construction and engineering company North Heavy Industry Corporation (NHIC) and British wind farm project developer Honiton Energy Ltd. The company produces REpower wind turbines for the North China market. Its headquarters are located in Baotou, a city of a few million inhabitants in Inner Mongolia, which is strategically well placed to tap into the booming Chinese wind power market.
