Suzlon Group-subsidiary REpower Systems SE announced the conclusion of an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract with Mitsui & Co (Australia) Ltd. to deliver 52 wind turbines with a total rated output of 106.6 megawatt (MW) for the Bald Hills wind farm in Victoria, Australia.
The new turbine features a rotor diameter of 152 metres, with the rotors sweeping an area larger than three football pitches. The nacelle alone is as big as two detached houses and will be constructed offshore at a height of between 95 and 110 metres.
REpower Systems SE, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Suzlon Group - the world’s fifth-largest* manufacturer of wind turbines - will change its name in 2014: thereafter the company will be called Senvion.
Suzlon Group-subsidiary REpower Systems SE announced the completion of installation of its 5,000th turbine, located in Baden-Württemberg’s biggest public wind farm, “Großer Wald”, near Buchen in the Neckar-Odenwald district
